My 10 Goals for This Week

Okay, I was convicted this morning. I’ve been a little bit of a train wreck for awhile and I just don’t know how to get back on track. I had surgery 7 weeks ago and I’m pretty sure he took two organs – one being my brain by mistake. Because let me tell you, it’s not working properly anymore. I can’t remember things. I can’t plan things. I can’t THINK. So, I woke up this morning telling myself it was time to do something and make some changes, whether my brain wanted to or not.

Goals

A friend of mine took this photo of me. I was goofing off (as usual) and she snapped it. We call it my angry face or for the sake of this feature today, let’s call it “You-goals-don’t-intimidate-me-I-got-this” face.

My husband has been telling me for years that I need to make goals and write things down. (Love you honey.) I used to be like that. Honestly, I did. Not so much the goal kind of person, but I wrote things down. I made lists. I was organized. I’m not anymore. At all.

Well, I just finished doing my very random morning routine, which includes perusing through some of my favorite blogs. One of those is Money Saving Mom. (I’m hoping she’ll rub off on me through osmosis or computer internet waves. It hasn’t worked yet, so clearly something is broken on her end.) And lo and behold there was her post that I read every week titled “10 Goals For This Week.” FINE. I get it. I need goals and I need to write them down. Let’s do this publicly shall we? Why the heck not?

My 10 Goals For This Week

(I’m copying her breakdown system for goals because, well, I like it and why not? My brain is gone remember?)

2. Write a note to each of my 3 children.

3. Plan & host daughter’s 16th Birthday Party.

There. That didn’t hurt at all. Do these goals intimidate me a little bit? Yes. But more than that they give me a sense of direction. They give me a clear path. A road to head down and that…that feels GREAT.

I’ll report on Monday how I did. Or feel free to follow me on Twitter or Instagram as I’ll most likely mention my progress. 😉
