It’s that time of year again! You dress your kiddos up in princess or pirate or ghost costumes, search the neighborhood for all things sugary and sweet, and they come home with more candy than they could ever hope to eat. So instead of having tummy aches and sick kids, here’s a few things you can do with the leftover Halloween candy.

7 Things You Can Do With Leftover Halloween Candy

  1. Use it for homework. If one of your kids is learning to count and they’re more of a visual learner, saving the smaller candies for counting practice is a great option. You could also use it as a reward for when they finish their homework!
  2. Save it for Christmas. When it’s that time of year again and it’s time to drink hot cocoa and make gingerbread houses, use the leftover candy for decorations on the house. (You could also drop a piece of chocolate in your hot cocoa or pair with your wine for a delicious drink. Yum!)

  3.

Bring it into work. I’m sure your co-workers would appreciate some sweet treats. Put some in a bowl on your desk or in the break room and before you know it, the candy will be gone.

  4.

Freeze it. To make the candy last a long time, stick it in the freezer. You can add the chocolate to smoothies, cookie dough, or ice cream. This way, your family can enjoy the candy throughout the year.

  5.

Put it in bowls around the house. Most people love a sweet treat now and again. Grab a few bowls and pour some of the extra Halloween candy in them for guests to grab when they come over.

  6.

Stick some in your purse. This could be useful for in the middle of the day when you need some sugar to keep your energy up, or when you need to bribe one of your kids to stop throwing one of those famous grocery store tantrums.

  7.

If all else fails, just hide in your bedroom and eat it all. Because, why not?
